Hopper System
A “Hopper System” works with your database of clients, leads, and prospects for your business. The
purpose of the hopper system to deliver value-added, educational information on a consistent basis to
all of your business contacts.
This communication is primarily aimed at continuing to educate prospects about your company's
business case - what you do, how you do it, why should I do business with you as opposed to
someone else in your industry - in specific, quantifiable terms, to help them understand why they
should do business with you as opposed to your competitors.
Your hopper system database is comprised of your business contacts - people you have met and/or
have a business relationship with. It may be through your local Chamber of Commerce, trade shows,
networking, lead generators like print, radio, etc. that you obtain their contact information. Educating
these people, so when the time comes for them to buy they buy from you instead of someone else, is
the goal of the hopper system.
Hopper System delivery methods include direct mail (letters or postcards), e-mail and fax. Since your
hopper database contains people you have an established relationship with, the most economical and
quickest way to reach your database is through email. Organizations with target markets that can't be
reached via email usually use an oversize postcard to communicate their message.
